Passport to the World: A BBYO Travel Experience

Travel Teens

The Passport Way

Passport to the World is BBYO’s worldwide summer travel program for high school-age Jewish teens of all backgrounds. What makes a BBYO Passport trip an exceptional way to spend your next summer?

WORLDWIDE DESTINATIONS

BBYO Passport trips span four continents and connect teens with countries as diverse as Israel, Italy, Costa Rica, England, France, Bulgaria, Poland, Spain, Holland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Austria, Slovenia, and the Western USA. Each country has its own unique characteristics, and we encourage teens to consider trips that include travel to multiple countries, or even multiple continents, as part of a full summer experience with BBYO Passport.

BALANCED TRAVEL EXPERIENCES

BBYO Passport believes in providing a balanced travel experience. Although every trip is different, they all share the same core elements – active touring, community service, cross-cultural interactions, and meaningful experiences with fellow Jewish teens. Each day is eye-opening and full of fresh new experiences. Although each trip shares the same values, some trips have a particular focus on community service, outdoors experiences, or enrichment learning.

JEWISH TEENS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS

All BBYO Passport trips embrace pluralistic Jewish values and are designed for any Jewish teen with a spirit for adventure and a desire to experience the full color of the world. The program is truly non-denominational in outlook – which means that whether you come from a traditional Jewish background or a secular background, everyone feels welcomed on our trips.

OPEN TO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS ALIKE

Passport programs are open community-wide to BBYO members and non-members alike. Typical trips are comprised evenly of members and non-members, which means that no one feels left out.

TRAVELING WITH TEENS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

BBYO Passport trips are comprised of teens who come from across North America and even around the world. Virtually all 50 United States and most Canadian provinces are represented in the program. Passport trips also draw many Jewish teens from Europe, Israel, and South America for a uniquely enriching cross-cultural travel community.

BUILD YOUR OWN SUMMER ADVENTURE

BBYO makes it easier than ever for teens to experience worldwide travel the way they want it. Travel experiences range from ten days to six weeks with a convenient schedule of program start dates every Monday from mid-June to late-July. Most of our Israel trips feature 7-day extension options for an even fuller experience. Finally, most of our programs are also modular -- which means that two individual programs can be linked together for maximum summer globe-trotting travel.

OPTION #1 / Israel Experiences

Israel programs are at the heart of BBYO's Passport to the World. For 55 years, BBYO has been sharing the magic of a summer in Israel with high school-age teens.

Participants on Passport to Israel programs develop a profound understanding of Jewish history, the miracle of modern Israel, as well as a stronger sense of their own Jewish identity -- without being tied to any one specific Jewish denomination or approach. Because we know that not every Jewish teen is seeking the same experience in Israel, we provide multiple program choices.
